Cheerio Fellow Movie Goers.  Marcus Jackson, the Duke of Movie Guru-ville here in the land of the Internet known as www.fox10tv.com.   This past weekend it was “good to be the queen”.  Over in Jolly Ole England Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 60-year reign with a Diamond Jubilee with boats on the river Thames and some old time Rock n Roll provided by her “Musical” Knights Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Cliff Richard and Sir Tom Jones — and many others.  This weekend was also very “wicked” at the box office with the new No#1 film Snow White and The Huntsman starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, and Chris Hemsworth.  It brought in $56.3 Million Dollars beating out Men In Black 3 $29.3M and The Avengers $20.3M, respectively.  And I must tell you this was NOT your Disney-style telling of the classic fairy-tale.  Check out this link to one of the film’s trailers courtesy of IMDb …. http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi2494275609/ .

This movie has been getting some very good reviews and with the popularity of ABC’s Once Upon A Time  and NBC’s Grimm movie studios are looking into this classic resource and seeing how they can put their spin on telling the story about these childhood goodies in a different light … or dark.  Earlier this year we had another adaptation of the Snow White lore entitled Mirror Mirror starring Oscar Winner Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, telling it more in terms of a more family/comedic take on the fairy-tale.  But now take Oscar Winner Charlize Theron’s take as the Evil Queen known as Ravenna … man, even her name is cool …. along with the other co-stars; mix in the action and special effects and you have a film that is pleasing to the eye for both men and women to watch and enjoy.  It is rated PG-13 so just be aware when you take your kids to see it when they beg and beg and beg you to let them check it out.

Now for my New Addition to my blog …. My Star Money Maker of the Week.  This blog edition I pick Charlize Theron because she will be in “TWO” No#1 … Back to Back Weekends nonetheless, when her latest film, Prometheus, the “prequel” to Alien will open in theaters This Friday.  Few actors have done this when their films debut on the big screen weeks apart, let alone one week apart.  But What Two Films To Be A Part Of …. Especially This Summer Movie Blockbuster Season.  It will have some competition when your kids will like you to “Move It” to go see Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted .  This will be the next Movie Showdown come Friday, June 8th.  This will be one of many in the month of June – This is typical during the Summer Movie Season so just brace yourself for a wild ride at your local movie theater(s).
