Clouds have stayed with us at times today, but at least it feels better. The humidity is much lower. Daytime high are in the upper 70’s. We have also enjoyed a pleasant n’east breeze. The clouds are lingering as the front has stalled in the northern Gulf. A secondary cold front is tracking through the mid-south.
Clouds and moisture will increase tonight. We only see a 20% chance of rain for this evening, as the front will stay stalled just to our s’east over the Gulf. This boundary will drift back towards us a bit early Saturday. Rain chances will be on the rise after midnight tonight.
This front along the coast is expected to remain in place through Saturday. Over-running rain is likely along the stalled front. Our temperatures will be in the mid 70’s for highs, and rain chances will continue through the first half of the weekend. A second front pushes the rain out by Saturday afternoon. Sunday looks dry at this point, with some sunshine and highs in the 70’s. The nights turn cooler! Lows will be in the 50’s Saturday night and Sunday night.
Even Cooler Late Next Week
Showers return in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday. A third cool front will push through Tuesday. This feature should bring in significant fall-like air for late next week. We see indications of lows in the 40’s in the extended range models.
The tropics are quiet. Tropical system formation is not expected this weekend.
