Warm Week With Unsettled Weather

It just keeps getting warmer! Temps well above normal will be the norm this week with a SW flow off the Gulf warming things up. This flow will also increase the moisture across the area and eventually lead to some showers.

The next couple of days we will see morning lows near 60 and afternoon highs in the mid 70s. The moist flow off the Gulf will begin to give us some rain chances, but since our atmosphere was real dry to begin with, all we will have is clouds isolated showers for the first half of the week.

Our rain chances increase Thursday as a slow-moving front to our west gets close. Rain will be scattered out ahead of that front for our Thursday. On Friday the front arrives and showers mixed with a few thunderstorms will be likely. Some of those storms could be strong, but at this point, the Storm Prediction Center says the event is too marginal for any significant risk.

The front pushes just east of us on Saturday… and then stalls. This unfortunately allows a low to form in the NW Gulf on the back of the front which will keep our rain chances up through the weekend as that low moves across the Gulf.

Temps should finally cool after the last of the rain clears our area sometime Sunday.

So in summary, the next week will be well above normal temperature-wise and rather unsettled with rain chances increasing late in the week.
