Hard Freeze Ends

Lows once again dropped into the teens in most areas last night, with a hard freeze. A low of 19 degrees was reported at Mobile. Colder inland locations dropped as far as 15 degrees well inland, to near 22 in Pensacola. We were just above the old records of 18 degrees in 1886 for Mobile and 21 degrees set in 1970 for Pensacola.

We will see increasing clouds, light winds, and a moistening air mass tonight. Lows should drop below freezing in most areas, but a hard freeze is not expected. Most locations will be in the upper 20’s to near 30 overnight.

Milder, Wetter Trend

After one more light freeze tonight, temperatures will finally get close 60 degree mark Thursday. Clouds and moisture will continue to increase. A few scattered showers are possible by Friday afternoon. Rain is looking likely for the weekend, especially Saturday morning. Temps will stay in the 60’s each day. Sunday should be much drier.
