Freezing Nights Return
Another significant push of colder air is arriving. Winds are really significant, resulting in a wind advisory for the forecast area. We have seen sustained winds as high as 28 mph with gusts in the 30 mph range. This front will bring another moderate freeze for tonight/Wednesday morning. Models indicate readings in the low 20’s along the I-10 corridor. Some inland spots could reach the extreme upper teens. Tonight will be the 11th time we are at or below freezing this January. Temps are running 5.6 degrees below normal for the month. Daytime highs will remain at or just below 50 degrees on Wednesday.
After a cold night Wednesday with a low near 30, more cold air is on the way to end the week. The long range pattern indicated another cold air push arriving by Thursday night. Another cold night is expected with lows near 20 degrees for Mobile.
Temperatures will finally improve by Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will rise to the upper 50’s Saturday, with a mixture of sun and clouds. We should be back above freezing along I-10 by Saturday night. Sunday looks even milder with a high near 60.
