More Chilly Temps
It was nice to see some sunshine today, though temps remained cool into the afternoon. Most readings were in the low 50’s at 2pm with an increasing n’west wind. A cold Canadian ridge builds in from the northern plains overnight and into Thursday. Lows tonight will be near freezing along I-10, with some upper 20’s in the inland spots. Wind chill readings could be as cold as 20 degrees by early tomorrow morning.
Cold Thursday, A Few Flakes ?
An upper level disturbance will keep skies cloudy on Thursday. We could even see a few very light rain showers by afternoon. Temperatures will be in the low 40’s throughout the day. Rain chances for the afternoon are at 40%. A few snow flakes or sleet pellets could mix in for our inland spots with no accumulation. The best chance for any wintry precipitation will be Greene, Washington, Clarke, Monroe, and Conecuh counties. Another cold one is expected tomorrow night, with lows back to near freezing.
The weekend forecast is looking much better. Temperatures moderate with highs back into the 60’s both days. Rain chances have been reduced to 40% Friday night and 20 % Saturday. Sunday looks dry and partly cloudy. We stay fairly mild into early next week, with Wednesday being our next good chance for rain.
