Big Rain Chances
Things are shaping up to be very wet this week across the Gulf Coast. We saw a few showers already today, and rain chances really increase tonight and Tuesday. A stalled frontal boundary will remain just off the beaches for the next few days. Rain chances are at 80% Tuesday and 80% early Wednesday.
Temperatures will also turn a little colder, as a Canadian surface ridge builds in from the Midwest. We will remain on the colder side of the frontal boundary. We are not expecting any significant winter precipitation here. Our neighbors in northern Mississippi and Alabama will see significant ice and snow through mid week.
Rain totals by Wednesday should end up in the 2 ½ inch range. Skies clear on Thursday. Nights will remain chilly. Temperatures do moderate and warmer weather is expected by the end of the week and the weekend.
